If there is one thing guaranteed to send me into an existential crisis it is working on an essay. My mind goes to very strange places when it’s being forced to concentrate on something it doesn’t want to.
I start wandering around the room, drinking orange juice and staring into space, and wondering if I could make anything out of an empty tissue box.

If anyone knows anything about the theme of anger in Victorian poetry, specifically in reference to Elizabeth Barrett Browning, don’t be shy about stepping forward.

Mannard, you are everything to me. Just when everything seems so hopeless and bleak, you make me feel like life might be worth living after all. I am absolutely indebted to you…I love you ♥
I love you too, very very much <3 <3 <3

There is nothing quite like the feel of bending the spine of a new paperback. ::pulls out pen and starts marking things to hell for this AU::
#i love getting work done so i don’t feel guilty about doing frivolous crap
The people who study this in the future will be horrified to see you refer to the classic series as ‘frivolous crap’.

And a google search takes me to the blog of a girl on my course.
Oxford: Gryffindor
Cambridge: Ravenclaw
St. Andrews: Slytherin
Us: Hufflepuff
Not quite sure how this uni got into the top four, but this is apparently based on a drinking game.

Apparently my uni is rather Hufflepuff though.
I remember ages ago hearing some people talk about how Oxford was one house, Cambridge was another, and then I’ve completely forgotten the other university involved and what the houses were.
Is it an internet thing? I’m googling it…

Before a lecture the other day.
During a conversation on Hogwarts houses where LYD and SC were established as a Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
Me: So what would I be then?
LYD: I don't know, a bit of both really.
SC: Maybe like 70% Hufflepuff and 30% Ravenclaw.
LYD: No no, 70% Ravenclaw and 30% Hufflepuff.
Other student: But you're agreed on the ratio?
Me: I'm just going to let you two sort this one out.

For reading way too much into a single line in a Harry Potter book? Um, sure, I guess.
NotAiden, I am a literature student. That is not reading too much into a line. It is being quite brilliant, however. Oh, and adorable. (Yeah, I find your ethical views adorable. Moving on.)

Maybe it’s my inner Slytherin, but the whole “there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it” thing never seemed all that evil to me.
There’s not really such a thing as black and white. Even so-called universal truths like “cannibalism is bad” can be called into question. Is it still bad if you’re invoking the rule of the sea? If someone chooses to...

That people can’t see that Kurt is explicitly, repeatedly, and purposely portrayed as undesirable due to his gender expression while Blaine is held up as this paragon of sexual desirability is mind boggling to me.
I get that people stan Blaine. I love Blaine, he’s adorable and there is very little that can change my mind on that. However, there is a very clear difference in the way...
